I have 2 questions before instart looking. First, what would be considered the cheapest model of CR. Second, if i find said model, what is a reasonable price for a used version?

Well your cheapest would be a small pj Inkosi or small pj Sebenza and honestly if you’re looking for a used one it all boils down to what you CAN find and how used it is… also what do you consider used?

That seems to be the price ive seen most. I say used but not what would be called a user but not LNIB

I’ve seen Large plain users go from right under $300 to $325. They had been used well tho. Honestly users don’t bother me with a CRK, unless it was just abused and not maintained. I think people are charging more for 21s these days tho

Yea the user thing doesnt bother me as i plan to use it as well if i pull the trigger

The small plain models may be the cheapest but get whatever size seems like it will suit you better or you'll end up sorry, especially if you only plan on having one.

The small is what i was really interested in. I can see from looking on the exchange that you have to act fast when they show up though

Good thing being if you get one and don’t like it, it should be easy to move it along

IMO you should consider a small plain Jane sebenza

it should not be difficult to find one in good condition in the $300 range

however, because they are expensive knives you better have to save money and they the one you like rather than the cheapest one

Part of the reason they are selling so fast is because CRK can't keep up with demand. What's mostly still available at dealers are the more expensive damascus and unique graphic versions. Even the left handed models are getting harder to come by new.

I have noticed that as well. Anyone i have seen on a website is 450 minimum. I also like the idea of being able to order replacement blades. Im a huge spyderco guy, but that is a big deal

I could be wrong, but if you want to buy replacement blades, I believe you’ll want a 31. I don’t believe CRK sells 21 blades any more. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

I sent you a private message.

He said it, if you want to be able to replace the blade in the future, grab a 31 or an Inkosi. I still want a small Inkosi. Small plain inkosi’s are $375 might be worth saving up for a new factory fresh model.

I’m guessing there will be a price jump in 2022. They can’t make them fast enough and the price has been $375 for plain smalls for a while.

There will come a time when they won’t replace 31 blades. Anyway, unless you use a grinder for routine sharpening, it should last a lifetime.

Was at the shop just a couple weeks ago, and was told due to demand 21 blades will be available for purchase, and not only for warranty service as has been previously stated. This was just random banter, so don’t take this as 100% fact and make sure for yourselves if making expensive decisions.
Also should be reiterated that you can’t just order blades. Requires sending them in to ensure a proper washer fit.

Did they happen to say what the process would be to purchase? I have several 21s in my rotation, and I'd buy a spare for every one of them if they'd let me. Even if that process would cost me the same as a new knife (to do 3-4 blades.)

Side note, I took apart, cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled on the first try my large 31. Whole process was less than 15 minutes. What a freaking joy these are to own and maintain.
