Considering ordering an Ontario RTAK. Any suggestions as to similar knives in same price range that I should check out too?

Dang, for a minute there, I thought that Ontario Knives had bought-out REKAT.:D..:D.

I've seen a couple of pictures of the knife and it looks awesome. I like the shape, the size and that micarta handle, not to mention that at around $90 it won't break the bank. I doubt it will rival a Battle Mistress, but at less than a third of the price of the Busse I don't know of any other similar knives.

Hey Dann,

talking about a buyout of REKAT, I have heard from a fairly reliable source, that Les over at Benchmade has bought the Rolling Lock! It seems REKAT is going to pursue the "Tool" part of "Round Eye Knife and Tool" company. My information maybe wrong, but imagine what a company like Benchmade could do with the Rolling Lock.

You might also look at Newt Livesay's replacement for the RTAK, I think he calls it an Adventure Knife (And since knife fans always do this anyway, the abbreviation is AK). A comparison photo of some of his 'big knives' shows the AK looks to be an inch or so longer than his original version of the RTAK. Newt has his introductory models on sale now for not a heckuva lot more than the Ontario version.

I decided to go for the Livesay LAK.
Now I'm trying to patiently wait;) for it to come.
Looks like he has nice knives at good prices.

I haven't got the LAK yet.
They are supposed to ship this week.
You should call Newt and see when he'll have them available - I saw somthing on his forum about not putting anymore out for a while after this batch. He has to catch up on some other projects. If you don't have his web address its: http://www.newtlivesay.com/.
Anyway can't wait to try it out.
