I am considering this knife for my next purchase. It looks like a good all around fix blade for hiking & camping etc. It's not too big for carrying or putting in your pack. I could even use it for a project knife and make some scales to put on it. I am wondering if anyone has used this knife or are there better choices in that price range?
I couldn't a thread related to this, so I apolgize if this was already discussed.

It doesn't look like a bad knife. That said, it looks to me to be way over priced. The steel is Chinese made 9cr. This isn't a terrible steel but it should be less than half the price of what SOG is asking. There are much better options for the money out there.

The BK24 comes to mind. Only a couple bucks more, High quality D2 Steel (you will need a good sharpening system for D2 as it holds a good edge for ever but can be difficult to sharpen) and made in the USA.

BK14 is another choice. much less money, very good 1095 steel (it will rust if not cared for but so will 9cr, 1095 is much easier to sharpen than D2), also made in the US.

The one I have is the ESEE Izula. When you get it with just a sheath it is less expensive than the tangle. 1095 steel. Esee has the best warranty in the business. Forever, transferable, no questions asked. I have done quite a bit of work with my Izula, though I would suggest springing for the version that comes with a clip.

You could even look at the CRKT SPEW, Minimalists, or Dragon. These use an inexpensive Chinese steel but are priced accordingly.

I am not trying to hate on the SOG by any means. I am quite a SOG fan. I have more SOGs than any other brand. That said, you do need to be careful when buying sogs as some of them are not worth the money. I think the Tangle is one of these. It costs way more than it should.

Thanks for the advice. I will look at the options you have suggested especially the ESEE Izula.
