Construction change on Vantage Pro?

Hello, first off new here, and relatively new to collecting knives. I picked up a Buck Vantage Pro and the centering was off a bit, so I proceded to dissasemble the knife only to find out the liner are now pinned together? That's a pretty disappointing change IMHO. Also the scales are now 2 piece, looks to be G10 inlayed into a Zytel like plastic? Not sure when this happened but now I can only tighten the pivot to center the blade which ends up making it too hard to flip.

Try a little oil on the pivot and open and close it several times. This should loosen them up to where they can be flipped. This is from experience with three Vantages.

I have, been working it seems a bit better but to remove the side to side play it's too tight to flip, so I'll have to have a happy medium I guess, is blade play common in these knives? Also I really wish that flipper was a hair bit bigger, that would make a lot of difference. Love the design of the knife and the S30V blade is awesome, just don't like the change to pinning the liners, might have to pick up an older model.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't say it's "common" but it happens. As long as the edge of the blade isn't hitting I'm not to bothered by a blade not being perfectly centered. Any chance you can return it?
