No.

Consumer Reports is as biased as anything else. The bias may not have a direct financial connection, but is there nonetheless.

There are many reviews here on this site -- most reviewers try to be unbiased, but we all carry our experiences and opinions.

Websites such as this are much better than most rating sites. Here you get direct information, both good and bad directly from users. There is rarely financial gain involved, however there may be the bias that can come from previous experiences. In most cases you get feedback directly from the manufacturer. It really is hard to top something like that.

Agreed. Well stated!.

I find this is the very best place to find out the low down and skinny on everything sharp and tough from the best value to the finest high end cutters!

Best,

Agreed.
I would add that rating a knife, like anything else, is not cut and dried," this is a good knife." or "this is a bad knife". Different factors are important to different people. So you can have two people review the same knife and they would end up with different feelings about it. Reading a thread with different people discussing the features they liked and the features they did not like is of great benefit, especially once you get to know the different posters and learn what features are particularly important to them.
