I have a couple of his knives and was interested in more. He used to be at http://www.primalconnection.com/index.html doing business as Darrell Aune Blades, but that was six years ago. The address is no good now. Once in Oregon. Laterly in Minnesota. Referred to himself as a "blacksmith." He was making fire pistons and wonderful fire steels in 2012 dba "primal connections." Also did business though "PaleoPlanet."

Did you ever get in touch with Darrel? i see him nearly ever day. getting ready to do a youtube review on some Yakut knives he made.

No. I see his knives - not attributed to him - on eBay from time-to-time from a seller in Arizona. Found no current contact info.

Well that's either his Ebay or mine. Currently he's doing a lot of yakut knives. Send him a message on one of his listings he will be glad to hear from an old customer.

What the heck is a Yakut? I asked myself that question yesterday and today, one of the nicest knives I've ever handled was delivered.

I don't know how Mr. Aune does such good work for what he charges. I got a 12" OAL Yakut and it weighs nothing. Handles are spectacularly comfortable and attractive. Sheath is top notch and would cost half the knife on the aftermarket. Sharp as all getout and a sexy forged blade that is super light.

Please post that Yakut video when it is done. I've never heard of these until this post and they look awesome. Going to be a while before mine gets serious use but I'll do my best with a review.
