well its time to have my contact wheel re lined.
i have been useing a 60 durometer wheel all this time .
i have been told i would like a 70 durometer better geing that the 60 is so soft.
i would like to know what other knife makers prefer for there hollow grinding..

I don't have much of an answer for your question, but I would like to know where you can get a wheel re-lined and about what the cost is.

I ground on 90 Dur. for years, but it tends to leave ripples in the blade. Great for hogging. I've used 70, and 60s. the 60 leaves a much nicer-smoother finish, but tends to wash out the top of the grind line on some styles of grinds. Especially with the bigger diameter contact wheels. I think I like 70 over all the best. Mike http://www.lovettknives.com/
