Contact Wheel Rubber Thickness?

I am making a small run of 4 x 6 inch contact wheels. The rubber guys cut my 70 durometer rubber 1/4" thick instead of my requested 3/8". Looking for advice if the 1/4" thick would be adequate or not. Thoughts?

I’d return it, they provided the wrong material. If you order and pay for something, you shouldn’t have to settle for what they give you.
