Contact wheel size -vs-grind height-vs-blade thickness

Hello,

I saw a similiar post on another board and was inspired to figure it out....so I sat down and derived some formulas that calculate the grind height to the blade thickness, and contact wheel size for hollow ground blades.

I've posted the formulas and the derivation on my web site. I hope that it is a useful resource.

If there are any other math geeks out there, please check my work for errors in math or logic.

Grind height, stock thickness, wheel size slide ruler type thing from K&G. It lives in my smock pocket. Very handy little item.

That slide rule was made and designed by Bill Herndon and is a mightly handly thing to have around if you hollow grind. Plus its only a few bucks.
