I've got an old Pro-Cut II (Kovall, as I recall) that has developed a pretty severe vibration after 16 years and 3-400 blades and handles. I changed out the pillow blocks, and that hasn't helped. I called Coote yesterday, and their wheels ($130) are 5/8" bore, while USA Knifemaker are 1/2". The Pro-Cut ran a 3/4" shaft. I noticed the sticky for CRC (Contact Rubber Corp), and I'm going to give them a try. Anybody got any other suggestions? If I bought the Coote wheel, how hard would it be to upsize the hole and keep it true?

I'm probably going to work toward upgrading grinders in the next few months, but I'd still like to get this one back up and running. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi - I'm not familiar with the Pro-Cut II machine, but would it be possible to change out the shaft? This may open up options for you. Also, have you considered getting the wheel surfaced and balanced?
