So, I have contacted many custom knife makers about pricing a possibly placing orders... problem is, none have contacted me back. I have talked to mike snody and greg lightfoot and neither has emailed me back. Getting frustrated, any help appreciated.

One of the nicest guys in the custom knife world that I've had the pleasure to talk with is Wayne Jarrett. The guy is super talented to. If you're looking for someone to talk over a project with I recommend Wayne highly.

The really popular ones are generally a huge pain in the arse to contact. Many of them just don't bother answering emails from my personal experience. They lost my business. I suggest taking a look at other makers. Andy from fiddleback forge is great to deal with. He has a subforum here and would be happy to help you.

Yuna is also quite good with communication and makes some really cool knives

I've had a few that refused to call or email me back. I simply took my money elsewhere.

You have to realize they are normal human being just like us, with full time jobs, families, hobbies, etc. They receive tons of emails and don't have a front office to answer them.

You may want to do some research on some of them as well before blasting off emails, most of the big name makers don't take orders anymore. Snody is one of them. You have to either catch them for sale online or go to the knife shows. For the ones that do take orders still, a phone call is the way to go. Email is typically last resort for me when contacting a maker.

Check the maker forums, these guys will square you away. I recommend JK knives, he will answer your e-mail.

What he said.

Try two of my very favorite makers, their work is quite similar. Charles May and Gene Ingram are both champs with good prices IMO. And they get back to you quickly.

I have to say Wayne Jarrett has made 2 custom orders for my son and I. I have bought 7 knives from him in the last year and can not say enough good things about working with Wayne. He is a great knife maker. Call him and you will not be disappointed.
