Contacting Victorinox to offer suggestions ??

.... it is easy with Leatherman but, how do you get in touch with Victorinox ??

I want them to make an improved Midnight MiniChamp :D

Same as above but with

1) Added Tweezers - could fit on other end of pen scale
2) Added Toothpick - could also fit on other side of pen
3) Added Pin - fit in scales
4) Added Tritium Capsules - embedded into both scales
5) With "Stay Glow" scales - like they have on a few other models
6) Much better LED - maybe like new Photon

This would make it the ULTIMATE small Keychain EDC :D
 
I don't know, but if you find a way let me know. I've had fantacies of a locking blade on a soldier for a long time!
 
I want a smaller SAK with pliers. Sort of like a smaller Swiss Champ with with more tools.

I don't think the Midnight Mini Champ could have a tweezer or a toothpick because the space is occupied by the pen and the light.

1) the pen takes all the width of what's accessible on the scale to put tweezers (the sides are blocked by the rivet pins), so I don't think it's possible

4) I think they aren't interested in tritium capsules, they haven't put it in their knives so far
5) good idea too!
6) the new photon freedom lights runs on 2 larger cells, the cell on the midnite minichamp is very small, so I think the low consumption led they have put is the best thing. you still can put a freedom on the split ring of a minichamp II, this way you would have tweezers too.

I love my minichamp and my photon freedom, and I'm not fond of stayglow stuff, so that the current one is perfect for me, but as lots of people in the US seems to like stayglow, I think this is a good improvement.
 
My eternal quest for the PERFECT keychain EDC ..... !! :D

I have been through a Leatherman Micra, Leatherman Squirt, SeberTool M4, Tool Logic, Victorinox etc etc ..... BUT still nothing Perfect !! :(

Right now I carry a MiniChamp with Photon and Glowring ..... but I am sure they could (if they wanted to!) re-design the whole MiniChamp to put my extra features in :)

Maybe even Victorinox could go into partnership with LRI Photon to produce SAK's with Photon lights ?? !!
 
You can contact Victorinox through their website. I sent them an email some time back, to suggest that a Pioneer with scissors would surely be a wonderful thing. They didn't go for it: I received a polite message stating that they had no plans to change their Pioneer line.

So, contact 'em if you want, but don't expect much in the way of results. :)

I think people have contacted them over the years like Nathan did with the same results. I don't think they are remotely interested in opinions/suggestions by their customers. Pretty much, they have their lineup and they stick to it until they decide they want to make a change or introduce a new one. Not saying I like it or dislike it, I just think that's their philosophy.

Probably the reason they politely pat us on the head and turn us down is they get many, many requests and would never be able to make everyone happy. So, knowing this, they just keep to their game plan. In a way, it makes sense as it has worked well for them for many years. And to be honest, they have enough variety to keep the masses happy. Lets face it, we are a fairly small group when you look at their overall customer base world wide.

I myself would like to see something more along the line of the 5 blade Camillus Boy Scout/Deluxe Camp model which is similiar to a Soldier/Pioneer with the addition of a locking main blade, a phillips which folds out the end(not the side), with of course the inclusion of the tweezers and toothpick as well. Really, if they could make the main blade of the majority of their lineup locking I'd be satisfied. Nothing fancy, liner lock would be fine with me.

Why dont they come out with a "Do It Yourself" kit !!!

You buy this kit with all the blades and scales they have available .... and you put it together as you like :D

OK, the kit might cost in the region of a $100 ...... but I'd definitely buy one !!

8 ) With "Stay Glow" scales - like they have on a few other models
9 ) Much better LED - maybe like the new Photon
10) Possibly squeeze a small magnifying glass in somewhere too !!

Perfectionist, while you're contacting Victorinox, suggest that they create a "Build Your Own SAK" web page. ;) Every SAK that I have is missing something I want and/or has something that I don't need or use.
