Container for BK9 pouch?

I'm looking for a container to fit my BK9 pouch, I want one that fills it out as much as possable so no Altoids tins.

Any BK9 owners found such a container for their knife?

I've experimented with a few things, but I've yet to find the perfect container. The pouch is a little shallow for my liking; I can't get it to hold my pocket spyderstone, as the velcro strap won't fold all the way over the stone to reach the pouch on the other side. I've settled on a small plastic cosmetic container (say 2.5 x 2 x 4") with a mini survival kit in it (mostly first aid, with some fire starting), accompanied by a SAK.

I'm curious to hear the other replies to this query, as I'm always looking to optimize my own BK9 sheath.

All the best,

- Mike

I've got an Altoids tin PSK in my BK-9's pouch at the moment, as well as a signalling mirror and allen key. You don't have to put *everything* into the container when stuffing the pouch :).

I've read somewhere that Ethan Becker deliberately sized that pouch to fit Altoids tins. It's a pity that he didn't do put a second one on the lower part of the sheath; there's loads of room for one.

I use an Altoids tin in my BK9 too (and my BK7 & Battle Rat, too). It is a shame that a 2nd pouch wasnt added, or even make the original pouch as long as the full-length of the sheath, you could then pack lots of gear in but still keep the whole unit relatively flat.
At one point I DID put my sheath kit in a Garmin GPS pouch secured over the top of the (unused) sheath pouch, but realised that I really was carrying too much gear. I always carry an SAS tin, so the sheath kit neednt be quite so large.
I still havent got around to it, but I am intending to put some kit (prob. firestarting kit) inside the handle.

I carry the Doug Ritter PSK with extras (Heatsheet, water tabs, Gerber LST knife, Zip-lock bag) in a slim fanny pouch (though this lives in my day pack) so I'm not sure what I'll be carring in the pouch. I'm thinking of a diamond sharpening stone and fire kit, or maybe extra fishing gear.

I wanted a container so I can pull it out and have everything inside rather than pulling one thing out and having other stuff fall out with it. If you were just going to carry say a stone and a Multi-tool then it'd be ok just to put them into the pouch.

You could add second pouch but I am more a fan of pocket carry than sheath carry; still I want to make some use of the pouch since it is already there. I did cut of the elastic band because I'll be using a container and feel that the velcro strap is enough. I do need to add some glue to this strap as the stitching is coming loose.

Another thought I had was to force (cause it's glued) the sheath liner out and turn it around so the solid flat side is facing the back of the sheath so you could epoxy a larger but flat "stone" to the back of the sheath.

Went to the dollar store today and found a plastic box of safety pins. Nice box with no hinges to break but the material is just fragile plastic.

What this case does is give the the size of what I need because this case fits perfectly and allows storage of 2-3 wrapped WetFire tinder at the bottom of the pouch where it slants.

Case is 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" x 1" with just enough room to slip a flat stone down the side or front of the pouch.

Oh, here is a thought: maybe a good part of a sheath kit should be first aid supplies for cuts <GRIN>
