Well, I didn't think another knife would unpocket my 581 Barrage but the Contego certainly made that happen, due mainly to the handle configuration and they way it grips your hand back, very secure grip on this knife and the blade ain't shabby either, sharpened it up on the EdgePro, slices extremely well and push cuts easily, the M4 is proving to be a very good steel, of course...

Now this is very similar to the smaller 940 in shape wise, but where the 940 was a bit slim, this is very much not.

a couple quick photos of the knife, pardon the quality, iPhone on the run...;)

I've read that they jimping is lessened on later models, don't know that for sure, but this one had excellent gripping! and the G10 contour is great.

NOW, what would be GREAT? would be an 811, or how about a 911 model? with a blade shape of the 941, always loved that blade shape and knife but found it too slim for any hard use and I do rely on my knives to serve both easy and not so easy tasks...

Here's hoping that Benchmade will release one with THAT blade shape as I'd certainly be picking one of THOSE up too!!!

And a big hats off to Mr Warren Osborne, such a talent to have for us guys and gals!

Thats a nice look at the 810, Mr. G. I have one as well. The G10 was way too sharp for my hands, so I hit it with some sandpaper and that took care of it. The glass breaker fractured, though I had not used it, so its back at Benchmade now. I'm happy so far with Benchmade's customer service, as they paid to have the knife UPS-ed back to them. But I'm a fan of the knife. It grips your hand as much as you grip it, and opens like butter. Has that nice big blade and deep clip. I paid a little too much, as they seem to have come down $20 - $30 since the initial release. But this is probably my favorite Benchmade.

Nice photo there and I see what you mean, I'll probably do likewise about the G10 outer edge it is a bit keen at that point isn't it, while looking at the front 'guard' area they radiused that very nicely, as well as around the butt end too, won't take much to soften that and still leave it with a solid grip.

And yep, I likes it ;)

Loving mine as well, but I don't find the contours or the limping to be too sharp or aggressive at all.

I wish they would come out with the 275 Adamas in M4 steel.

I just got another contego today. Can't put it down. I love that it has a huge blade an no wasted handle space. This is my Ideal EDC. No we just need one in M390 and CF... :D

And I would be more thatn down for a Adamas in M4! Main reason I don't have one is I don't like D2.

I used mine when I first got it to push cut some 1" saplings in my neighbor lady's back yard just for giggles. Those sharp edges really dug into my hands and made it painful, and that was after just a couple of cuts. I can see where that kind of traction might be good if you are wearing work gloves, but at least in the initial versions it was pretty harsh. But 3 minutes with some sand paper and its a lot better. I think I read somewhere that the newer version is smoothed out just a little. I could actually envision myself getting the other color as well, after I run out of other knives to buy.

The handle definitely needs to be hit with sand paper or it will tear up your hands fast. But it's a quick and easy fix. I'm going to smooth out the corners on mine a little more.

Such a great looking knife.

Didn't realize how big it is though..wowza!!
