Content not viewable in your region

I’m in the UK and see “Content not viewable in your region” on a purple box in some threads. Any ideas why the content is not viewable?
I don’t want to have to pay a fee for a VPN but would this solve the issue?

Also, whilst I’m posting. I noticed I can’t upload any images unless I pay a fee to the site owner. Is there any limitations to a basic membership.
For some other sites I have to use a third party hosting site like Postimages.com but it doesn’t work on here. Are there any other sites I can use other than imgur?

Attention Thread 'Imgur access in the United Kingdom'

Howdy,
It's been brought to our attention that servers in the UK cannot access Imgur. That includes photos stored on Imgur and linked to in posts on BladeForums. So if you are posting from the UK, you won't be able to see pictures which are posted on BladeForums by linking to to files stored on Imgur. Pictures stored directly on BF are not affected, nor are pictures stored on other hosting sites. As far as we know, this currently only affects pictures stored on Imgur.

From September 30, 2025, access to Imgur from the United Kingdom is no longer available. UK users will not be able...

Note that only Imgur has this access issue, and only if the server you are using is in the UK.

Limits on a Basic Membership are defined in the "Paid
Subscriptions" page. There's a link to it at the top of every page.

 
Thanks for the replies. I’ll want to share some pictures with folks at some point so I’ll sign up for the Basic soon.
