Asking folks to spam to enter a contest is highly suspect. Chris, you had better check with Spark to be sure. If he says it is cool, that is one thing, but I am editing it until you clear it with him.

It may be guerilla marketing, but it is asking folks to spam in the name of a contest as far as I can tell and not allowed.

As I said in the edit of your post, you clear it with Spark and if he gives you a green light, then do whatever, but my instincts tell me he wouldn't approve.

It is not allowed. What you call "guerilla marketing" we call SPAM. End of story. You're lucky Progunner got to it first. I was ready to hit you with an infraction. If you want to run a contest you can do so with out the advertising just like everybody else.

its not like i am asking folks to email evry tom dick and harry..... interior designers and such have a vested interest in knowing whats out there, and are often thanfull to folks that send them leads on new products

Perhaps submitting your info to trade publications would get you even more of a pinpoint audience. Just a thought, a marketing publication I was reading highly suggests you market your specialty to such publications since that is likely where your target market goes for info on what is new and going on.

What you are asking members to do is SPAM people for the sake of winning a knife. I know that if someone sent me such an email I would be very irritated. I told you once it's not allowed. Do not continue to argue about it.
