Wrong Friend's Katsuki is better but not completely out of the woods.

Uncle is apparently still feeling pretty rough.

And Ben Tice is looking at surgery.

And more of us are probably hurting physically and/or emotionally, but just haven't mentioned it.

I'd like to suggest we not slack off here on prayers and smoke until things get more resolved. We wouldn't want whomever or whatever is up there listening to think we've taken Him/Her/It for granted. I'm sending more smoke up and hope you'll continue with prayers and thoughts. And smoke or candles too ( unless you're in the LA area ).

You sure won't get any arguement from me on that idea. I for one don't think that a fellow can send too many prayers for all those in need and for those and family that are really having a rough time. I'm with you 100%. I do hope that the Lord keeps hearing those prayers as he apparently has been doing.:) :)

Yup. And my daughter and granddaughter are still undergoing travail although things seems to have eased up for the moment.
It's no wonder the old and new hermit monks were/are hermits and spent/spend all their time in prayer mode.
With as many people undergoing some degree of illness or another there isn't much time to be in anything less than a prayerful mode.
Probably doesn't hurt any of us.:)
At least it can keep our minds of of our own troubles no matter whether serious or not.

It's the ndn way to always pray for others before we pray for ourselves. And that we always ask for more aid to others than for ourselves so as to keep us humble and unselfish.
It's also the ndn way to pray, "That things be fixed up in a good and gentle way for...." whomever we are praying for.
We are taught that the Great Mystery knows what is best for the person we are praying for and that we have no idea of what the Great Mystery has in mind for that person.
And that perhaps the Great Mystery has put that person on that particular path in order to learn something.
An example would be to pray for someone who is having great difficulty with a drug or alcohol addiction and we pray that the Great Mystery take the addiction away from that person.
Then that person is killed in an accident of some sort.
Our prayer was answered, just not in the way we wanted it to be.:(
On the other hand if we pray, "That this relative/friend of mine, or person that prayers have been asked for, needs things fixed up in a good and gentle way for them. I pray that you fix things up in a good and gentle way for their alcohol/drug addiction, sickness/disease, financial difficulty, or whatever, because I don't know what they need or what You, The Great Mystery, has in mind for them, so fix it up in a good and gentle way for this person."

Just a little insight into ndn religious belief/culture that I can share.:D

When I send up smoke for particular Cantina members, I usually throw in a good word for the Cantina as a whole as well. Good reminder, Rusty.

:grumpy:

I STILL want to sacrifice Brendan to the gods on a stone altar with an obsidian knife. :grumpy:

I keep all of you in my thoughts. It's easy to keep track of.

Kis, you're doing it wrong. You need an Ax to carve the Blood Eagle. Didn't we have a thread about that?
