Contour sheath problem

hey guys,

I have one of the little Sog Contour fixed blades. I believe it is supposed to be a neck knife, as it came with a chain for wearing as such, but the knife fits into the sheath so loosely the knife falls out (when hanging upside down) with the slightest bump.

You guys know of any ways to tighten the sheath up a little on this thing, or maybe is it just defective or what?

I really dread the idea of, when carrying this thing as a neck knife, the blade falling out during movement and onto the floor, or worse staying in my shirt area and the point stabbing me.

I really know nothing of kydex molding so I am hesitant to heat it or try to form it or anything, untrained. Any ideas?

thanks,
-steve

Hi Steve, I read that you can soften the kydex to fit the knife by heating it up (either by hair dryer or immersion in hot water). Not sure about the procedure, but the main idea is to heat it up. :)

nutz about knives basically has the right idea. Heat it up with a hair dryer while holding the lip of the kydex sheath closed
