From our end we will have Vikash, Chokpa, Yangdu and Uncle Bill all appearing at least for a couple of hours in Nepali dress.

Pala sent topis for all folks who attend the convention -- gifts, of course.

We will have some khukuris for sale to conventioneers at about 1/3 off regular price if anybody is interested. Bring plenty of cash. We will have top notch khukuris and scabbard by the sarki with no name.

John Powell tells me he has the meeting room reserved at the Atlantis. Uncle Bill's Cantina is about 100 yards SW of the Atlantis and we can migrate there for a couple of hours and examine khukuris for sale and I'll pull a couple of old timers out from under the bed if the dust bunnies have not devoured them.

Dan K. called just this evening and said he would be here. Yvsa and wife have reservations. John Powell, of course, will be present. Dave K. will be coming up from Phoenix with Yvsa & Co. Rusty will probably drive up from Hawthorne but for how long I don't know. Broken Arrow will be coming for Saturday, I think, from the Bay area. Jim March will probably show up -- on a motorcycle? I don't know. How many more I'm not sure but I figure about a dozen or 15. A decent sized group but small enough so that we should have time to get to know one another a little.

We at the cantina all look forward to this upcoming convention with great anticipation and hope there are many more to follow.

Only three weeks now. Better book tickets if you have not done so and find a pad for a couple of days.

Hey guys! I was wondering where everyone was staying at? I would like to stay with everyone so it would be convenient. I was wondering if anyone had some space for me to stay overnight. I will be in Reno early Friday morning and leave Saturday after noon. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it, but if not could someone give me some tele #s for the hotel/motel that everyone is staying at. Thanks guys and see all of you soon

The meeting room will be available for saturday and sunday, but will have no security other than us. They are providing tables, chairs and buckets of ice. We will figure out the cost per person when we're all together. There are still special rates available at both the Atlantis and the Peppermill which are close to Bill's place.

Look forward to seeing you all there...

First for Broken Arrow -- Atlantis number is 775-825-4700. But if you look on the Reno Chamber of Commerce page you may find an 800 number and save a buck or two.

Second -- about 50 yards across the street from the Atlantis there is a Raley's Supermarket with a very decent deli. You can save 50% or more on a meal by getting something from the deli. And, my Heineken will also come from Raley's and go in a bucket of ice in our meeting room. It's $5.95 per 6 pack at Raley's and $3 per bottle plus a buck tip at the Atlantis.

During the AM and most of the afternoon Yangdu, Vikash and Chokpa will be available to make Raley runs and serve as guides. Night Vikash has to work at the Hilton so he will leave us around 4 PM.
