Conversion for my 112?

I am interested in converting my 20 year old 112 to an auto.
Does anyone have an opinion if that would be ruining an antique by modifying a 20 year old knife? Is there value in this knife other than sentimental?

Who can I contact at Cumberland to take my knife and convert it?
Thanks,
Terry

If it were my knife, and I wanted a 112 auto, I'd just keep the old one as is and just get one that has already been converted. You never know when you may want that old knife back the way it was before the conversion. That's the sentimental value part of it. If you do have it converted, your 20 year old knife will have no collector value other than as an automatic. The lifetime warranty will be void as well.

Take care,

TerryL, so you know, Cumberland burnt to the ground, no more conversions from them

Hi TerryL,
You should also know that Buck has absolutely nothing to do with automatics. Buck spends alot of money in California fighting knife laws, they won't have anything to do with knives that are illegal there.
