Converting a mantra to washers..

Well, after watching Apostel P's mantra review that his gripes ate probably the same as mine and a mantra without flipper tab and washers instead bearings would be pretty damn nice.

Tldr: do you think it would be possible to convert a mantra to use washers?

Yes you could. But if you grinnd off the flipper and covert to washers you would have a Delica

Not really. It would still have a handed lock, no provision for tip down carry, a thicker blade, a wire clip, and a blade that was neither stainless or damascus. Some may seen one or more of these as pluses, others might see them as negatives.

I meant the general profile and wasn't too serious.

Positives for the most part. :)
But I'm still thinking of the G-10 Delica with M4 that I pictured in my mind when I read the first post.
Never happen but I can dream right?

If someone gets some part numbers on this one I may end up owning a mantra after all. It is gonna either be a thick washer or more than likely a stack of washers. I have seen some thick Teflon washers like on my Lionspy.

Does anybody have a micrometer to measure those bearings?

Now if only I could get rid of that internal stop pin.

Well of course it would be similar to a delica. I think the delica is one of the best designs shape wise for edc. Or at least it is for me. But you could still improve it...
Scales: well I do prefer titanium, even though FRN might be more sensible for practical use.
Lock: I don't like back locks. Not even well executed ones. I would prefer the frame lock of the mantra or even better a compression lock.
Steel: I love cpm m4. Awesome steel, but not stainless.
Washers: I prefer washers over bearings.
Clip: for me the wire clip is one of the best factory clips. Ever.
I usually carry tip up, so no issues there either.

Of course, as you might he noticed, most of it is just personal preference.

Acutally looks like the Delica and the Tenacious had a ti-framelock love child. ;)

Have you considered the Sage 2? Granted, it's not M-4, but it is a ti framelock, with washers, no internal stop pin, no flipper, and wire clip.

I actually did look at it. And it is sure nice... but it is not that m4 delica titanium tenacious. Lol
