Converting a riveted knife into a screwed together knife

I just got a Buck/Strider 889 and while its a great knife, my biggest gripe is its riveted construction.

Is there anyone that could mod it such that it takes screws? Has anyone done this before? I can't stand not being to take apart a knife for a thorough cleaning.
