Hi folks, I have a set of mov files that I merged into one mov file but a DVD player doesn’t like it

Files made on my iPod Touch

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I had this same problem before. After looking around for related topics, like what formats are used for DVDs and how to convert one format to another, I found the AVS video converter. Depending on your player, you may need to convert them MPEG format.

Thanks, seems like quite a struggle to do something so obviously needed :( but as I don't do this hardly like ever, I don't want to invest into something for a one time thing and trusting downloads on the internet leaves me less than enthused ;) So the bad news is, he won't be able to watch it on his dvd player, but I do have a thumb drive and I'll have to see if his tv has a usb input otherwise he will have to watch it on his computer. He is not very computer savy, well, at least compared to me, lets just say he is about a decade older than myself, but I tried the dvd on my laptop and it does play there, just not on my regular dvd player.

Again, thanks for the input,
G2

Regular DVD players use a different file system. Over the years some might or not play computer files. If I can remember from the old days, I think DVD video files were .VOB, and there were additional files for the start and menu.

Some DVD players would play video CD's with mpeg4 (or 2 or 3... Its been ages so I can't remember). These were popular in Asia where video cd's were more affordable. If you have some of those you might give it a try. You could also check out his dvd player and check what specs it has for recognizing video files.

I can't remember if Windows movie maker has a DVD option. It's a free program but no longer supported. I should mention if you go that route, if the file is too big, it will mess up the Windows movie maker program... and possibly the Windows media player.
