Converting the general public

After corresponding with another lover of INFI I got to thinking about how many of us are walking salesman for Busse Combat. Most people might say, "Yeah, it's a good knife." where we go into crazy detail. Many of my friends that have never been on these forums know as much about Busse and INFI as we do just from listening to me.
Does anyone have any stories about their attempt to convert someone?
I had a friends son that was shipping over to the sand box. I let him have a choice of several pieces of INFI from my collection.
I lost a BA-E but Jerry gained a future customer.
So how about it.
What have you done?
Please excause sentences that don't make sense. Lets just say that Makers Mark is pretty good. :D

SHHHH!!!! We're trying to keep it a secret. It's already too damn hard to get enough INFI and I don't like to share. Bad Paradiggum - BAD! :grumpy:

Oops. That didn't come out right. I mean't no to Poorguys admonishment of Paradiggum.
Yes to converting the public because friends don't let friends use crap knives.

I converted my uncle, he didnt know very much about busse then we went and chopped a mess of stuff up with my FSH and SFNO and he was very impressed. He plans to order a FBM when they come out or get one on ebay.

I'd school my uncle on secondary market INFI. He'll do a lot better price-wise ordering it from Jerry & Co.

They gotta be really good friends, before I'd let them touch my stuff. They have to be one of my best friends before I'd let them use it, and that's been a friend I've known for over 10 years. The only other people I've shared my INFI with has been my fiance and my brother, and that's been for tactical reasons. Of course, with other folks, I've done the dutiful word of mouth.:D

Heck, this how I got into this frey, I was exposed to Busse/INFI in the late 80's had to wait until the 90's for my first couple, and then more recently...I got dubbed the Jublixboar666 by the old man himself.

If you've let the fiance in on your stash I would be looking at a prenup for sure. How many Hogs have fallen for that marriage ploy just so they can get ahould of your Infi. ;)

Point well taken, Cleaner. They act like they couldn't care less, but there's just something about the way their eyes linger a lil' too long on your INFI stash that belies a deep obsession. Gotta rethink this unconditional "till death do us part" thing.:D

Well, I don't try to convert anyone. If someone asks me directly I ask them what it is they are looking to do and how much they want to pay. When they say $100, well, Busse ain't it. In fact I recommend whatever I feel is right for the price range. However, if they say price is not an issue, coming back in one piece is, then there is no substitute for INFI.

There are many great knives out there that can be counted on to bring you back. INFI is just the best of them.

I've said it before, first wife got a Mean Street (circa 1998). Sure do miss that knife:D

My Friends and Family no comprendo.

My cousin did buy a New LMS LE from me that I was going to sell. I took a hit on it, $200.00, just to get him into Busse. He had probably never paid more than $50-$60 for a knife before that so it was a big step for him. He really likes it. He hasn't told his family yet though. When they asked about it he told them I was just letting him use it.

 :D

I've yet to sell one. The only one to leave my collection is the BA-E. I don't mind letting people use one when I'm camping or whatnot. I mean what are they gonna do to it? It's a Busse. Let them do whatever.
