Convex edge FAQ? How to thread?

Sorry, you are going to have too piece together the info from a fair amount of posts around the internet. Since its the oldest way of sharpening one would think you might find a sticky on "BLADE FORUMS", but nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! 1- start with a mouse pad and 400,800,1200 or 1500, and 2000 wet dry.2- mark the edge of the knife with a marker of some kind.3- set the mouse pad at the edge of the table with a piece of 400 grit, and clamp the paper so its tight over the mouse pad.4-with moderate pressure work the knife until the marker is gone on both sides "this may take some time" also feel free to use different grits if you like.5- move to the next grit and repeat the process.6- report back with questions.

On the finer grits use less pressure so not to ruin the very edge. So, more pressure to create the convex shape, and less pressure to refine the edge. Last thing is stroping with a polish to remove the burr , and refine the edge even more.
