Convex edge?

What are some pros/cons of convex edges vs. flat ground edges. I'm thinking of buying a Marbles or Bark River or maybe Dozier hunting knife all of which have convex edges. I have no experience with convex edges, only hollow and flat ground. I've heard great things about convex edges here on bladeforums, I'm wondering if there are any specific traits that make them "better", or not?

It's not a fad.

The convex edge has been around for centuries and is a great trick to get an acute edge with more steel behind it so it resists damage.

Do a search here for "convex." There's tons of stuff.

The mere fact that makers with reputations for good work select it should tell you something.
