Convex edges still coming out of Wauseon?

Just noticed today that all of my purchases from Busse over the last several months all have V edges, even on the large choppers. Have convex edges gone the way of the dodo?

That would make sense, I haven't gotten a satin blade in a while, but that's usually all I buy.

Both my ASH-1 and NMSFNO in satin had convex edges I received the NMSFNO a week ago and the ASH-1 3 month ago

My satin FAT ASH1 that I got a couple months ago had a convex edge but I requested it.

All the edges are likely convex to some degree from the shop, as I believe they are ground on a slack belt.

The satin finishes seem to have a more pronounced convex and the coated blades have very slight curvature to them.

My satin infidu came with an amazing convex edge but I noticed that some didn't. Not sure why

I have a convexed ams that came that way. My muk came convexed too. Those to little razor blades got me to fall in love with the convex edge for its ease of sharpening. I've convexed everything I've owned except two blades. Both TINFI

My custom shop Infimandu I got at Blade has a wicked convex edge.

My Mean Street has a V on one side and a Convex on the other. It is the B.I.G. finish.

Really? I thought they stopped the asymmetric grinds several years ago. Last I saw ones offered was just a hand full of B11s IIRC that were sharpened by Jerry at Blade a couple years back.

Yea, I am almost positive mine has the asymetrical edge. You can feel the convex edge with your nail. I think my Mean Street is an old one. The black canvas micarta is a different patern the others I have seen. As far as the edge there is more edge on one side then the other. It is the factory edge as well.

Sorry for the poor pics

Not entirely sure lock188, but FWIS it looks like an uneven V to me, not asym...

That side you label "convex" is catching too much light too evenly & uniformly to be convexxed...

An overhead macro shot above the spine at the point may help more with I.D. ...

but it looks visually to be a V just ground more acutely on one side than the other, IMHO....

but I have been known to be wrong before......:o

once......:thumbdn:

or twice.....:thumbdn::thumbdn:

in a single thread.....

I am not a well versed on edges. I can however sat there are no tool marks. Would it have been possible to get it this way from the factory. It ses to be the factory edge

Haha, that's not bad, I'm usually wrong once or twice every time I open my mouth :foot:

Entirely possible that the secondary grind could be off...humans grind them...

although I've never owned a Busse that was that uneven from the factory

Yea that's what I was thinking too. I haven't either. Well, are there any other characteristics to look for when identifying an asymetrical edge?
