I swear. Not much, but when I run the blade between my fingers, it sure ...feels...like it's convex. Very slight, but doesn't feel flat.

It took you long enough to figure it out! :D

If you hold a blade up to the light and turn it back and forth slowly, you should see the curved pattern the light makes on the surface.

I'm surprised you didn't know it was a convex grind. It is certainly not an industry secret. In fact, it has been posted about quite extensively on this forum.

It is a very light curvature , and some of them are flat, I have handled a few which are even flat on one side and convex on the other.

Never....repeat.....NEVER....be surprised at what ....I.... don't know.

:D :foot:

But, in my defense, I have a good memory.

Incidentally, did anyone know that Opinels have a convex grind?

:D :D :p :D

I tried that. Got such a buzz that now I'm earning "knife money" by showing my Opinel on sunny days in da 'hood.

Funny, my stainless #8's are convex and my carbon #7's are flat.

I've run into that. I think that the smaller the opi the less the convex shows up or is even there. I look at my number 7 and it is a very small degree of convex, but my #12 is very noticable. My # 9 is a moderate degree of convex.

Opinels are the most under rated knife out there. They cut great.

Good to know , I,ve only sharpened mine two or three times . I resharpened it like a regular double bevel flat grind . Can I just start sharpening it like a convex grind should be sharpened ?
