i recently acquired 2 FBs both with a convex primary grind.
the first is a Bark River, in which the primary grind comes right to the edge. there is no secondary edge grind. it is shaving sharp:

the other knife is from Fiddleback Forge. it has a very narrow secondary, or edge, grind:

is the first example (Bark River) the ideal for a Convex primary grind, so perfect that no edge grind is needed ?
or is it more common that an edge grind is put on ? the Fiddleback example has such a narrow edge grind that i cannot tell, but presume it is actually a flat grind just as one would sharpen a "regular" blade. is this usually the case ?
i do understand that both should be sharpened when needed, "mousepad style", and the BRK&T collectors site has an excellent "how to" on this.
thanks, roland

I love this type of grind, a true convex grind. Cuts very aggressively. I use this on my Fallknivens, and maintain them with sandpaper/mousepad.
