I have several ideas on the best position, the lead right now is for my platen attachment but backwards, but i was hoping someone with some experience could give me the low down on the best way.
thanks

I don't mean this to sound like it's gonna, but why would you want to convex(fancy word for saber grind) grind on your Wilton?????

it's the one grind i havent tried and i think it can be a good geometry... especially for choppers... i want to see how good it can be ... if you are asking why i am doing it on a wilton, it is just because its all i have... i was meaning to ask you L6-- what happened to the pass around knife that you started last year???

The pass around bowie is in Oz's hands. He's working on the guard and bolsters. He'll send it to Kit to have the guard soldered on and then to me to dovetail the bolsters and handles. I'll attach them all and then send it to someone for the finish work.
I just thought new makers did the convex grinds as apposed to flat or hollow. Most of the time on lessr grinders than a Wilton. What blade pattern are you doing the convex grind on??

just a medium sized multi purpose knife... like i said it is just to see how well it works and sharpens and how stout it is... i guess that is why busse uses it on half of their basics...
