Well I got all the stuff I think I should need together. Mouse pad and Wet/Dry sandpaper. Planing on starting with 220,400,800,1000. Then If all goes well I'm going to order a leather strop to polish it out.
Starting on it tomorrow we'll see how it goes.

stroping is pretty awesome. all the cutting power almost no loss of metal. Just started myself and it's going very well.

Edit: DerekH has the most efficient method of convexing I've seen in my life. Did a 7 in 15 minutes.

I love stropping, too I'm a fan of the smooth edge it gives; and if you don't go buckwild with the compound, you can use your everyday belt like I do. But, as to the convexing, you might start with a good 120 grit/a file or you might be there until the cows come home. (never convexed a blade before, but i've made a few and tweaked more) if you need to remove stock, the harsher, the better. nice finish is attained with the many steps of grits like you have planned.

I believe it was DerekH that posted a "convex a blade in 5 minutes" thread a few weeks back that looked pretty quick and easy....anyhow let us know how it turns out because i have been thinking about doing this myself.

Just read Derek's post. If I can remember to stop by walmart on my way home I'll pick up a nail file.
Very nice trick Derek came up with.
Hopefully this works out well. I want to do my BK2 next but want to start with something on a smaller scale. LOL :D
