Convex Platen

I remember seeing someone offering convex platens before....I swear I do.

Anyone remember who that was?

Would be for a KMG if it matters.

I'm after something with a 48" diameter or similar.

Nathan the Machinist was making large diameter platens for hollow grinding... is that what you were looking for?

adam if the hollow grind is what your looking for then yes
if you want convexed (appleseed grind) then you are looking for the rotary platten

I thought that at first, too, Butch.... but his wording leans more toward a convex platen not a convex ground blade. Plus linking Nathan's thread will make it crystal clear.

Yeah, understand Butch. I am after the hollow grind for the back of single bevel knives. What Nathan made is exactly what I'm after.

Want the rotary platen too, eventually.
