Convex sharpen using SharpMaker

You could, perhaps, but it would seem to be quite difficult to do it well. I'm sure you have already heard of the sandpaper and mousepad method, but if you have not, a search of the forums will give you tons of information. Believe me, it is dead simple to put a convex edge using varying grits of sandpaper and a soft backing.

I thinned out the edge of my Calypso Jr. with a benchstone, then did the convex edge using sandpaper and a mousepad. Talk about taking a high-performance knife to the next level! :)

Good luck,

Matthew

well you can rock the blade slightly but it takes some practice. I do it with a normal stone or ceramic "steel" so it's possible but a little tricky.

I'd just use the felt tip method and use both angles on the sharpmaker and do a little by hand using the white rods
