I hit stone last week with my Bravo-1's belly and have worked out the rolled edge with my a medium stone from my sharpmaker.
I have now spend over 4 days trying to get it sharp again. The straight part is razor sharp but the belly is nowhere near satisfactory.
When going about on 290 grit it gets some sort of edge, i can feel that much. However its stays at that.

I read the bark river guide and they say that you shouldnt tilt the handle when reaching the belly. If i follow that to the letter i don't get to the edge.

I'm going nuts here. A lower angle and i dont get the edge and a steeper angle seems to round it out.
The only thing i can think of is that its still a small v-grind left by the medium stone. But after 4 days it should be convex again i'd say.
It feels if half my blade is in that sandpaper by now.......

Another thing i noticed that my blade seems to have a small bevel behind the edge before getting to the large convex of blade itself. Is this normal on the bravo 1?

Try sweeping the handle back just enough to mantain edge contact but don't raise or lower it which would change the angle.

I took some photo's of my problem. Its not just the belly it seems. The back of the blade is lifted about 3-4mm.
I am hitting the bevel and a part of the upper bevel but not the space in between. There also is a bit of marker left on the edge. I love this knife and want it back in shape before my holiday in 1,5 week. If someone could please tell me what i'm doing wrong?
This is before and after a few strokes

Its actually the other way around, you must lift the handle as you drag the knife to follow the proper angle. It also seems as you are trying to sharpen too much of the bevel. If you want to make the whole thing shiny then you will need to work with two angles and blend them together as you sharpen or press harder on the paper. Remember that the amount of pressure you use is what controls the amount or lack of convex shape or roll to the blade.

That's a relieve to hear. I tried not lift the handle but than it the edge was above the sandpaper.
I also used the BRKT strop as backing for the sandpaper which works well. Why i didnt think of that earlier....
