Convex to flat grind?

Hi, I'm curious if you consider converting a convex grind to a flat grind reasonably possible without a grinder (ie. with stones only). Or would it be too much of a work this way?

Not sure what steel you're dealing with but it shouldn't be an issue with some low grit stones. I would probably opt for Diamonds and something like a DMT XXC or maybe the Atoma 140?

That being said, unless you're really proficient at free hand, I would go with a guided sharpener. That or send it off to one of the sharpeners that are member here on BF to get the bevel reset to your desired geometry. From there you can maintain.

Thanks! :)

Why?
Because I like flat grind. :)

I had a small Bark River PSK converted from convex to flat grind by Razor's Edge. The knife had an uneven edge (if looked down at the edge you could see that it was slightly curved) that I couldn't fix with my Wicked Edge.

Razor's Edge did a some grind work on my Emerson Mini A100 and did a outstanding job. Highly recommended.

What did you have done to your Mini A100? I was considering sending mine off to have the black coating removed and maybe have a double bevel put on it
