Hello all well just convexed a military s30v do i need to add a micro bevel?

How
sand paper and mousepad grits 220, 320, 440 cutting any burr with xltra fine ceramic , and light stropping.
Actually first time i was able to get hair popping from butter knife with ffg s30v, hollow geing s30v is easy

i wouldn't convex it at all, I have a hair shaving flat grind on mine and it holds amazingly

if you micro bevel it it means more labor down the road sharpening wise IMO

Thanks guys yea i bought it second hand it was pretty dull touched it up but still wasnt what i wanted. Thats why convexed it.

There is no answer to your question because "convex edge" refers to a wide array of edges, ranging from very obtuse to very acute. None of us knows what your actual edge geometry looks like or what you're doing with it.

If your edge is as sharp as you want it -- and if it holds up reasonably well -- keep it like it is. But, as a general matter, convex edges do not cut better than V edges. Whether you'd benefit from a microbevel depends on a lot of factors, none of which you've told us.

Yes i see , I would estamate around 19 ish per side. My knifes roll is edc, food prep ect. I do not abuse my blade ( grown old of hard use or strength issues). So this blade wouldnt be subject to chopping yea i know or anything other than cutting.
