Looks like you did a better job than me, I always have to use a TON of sandpaper.

Is it real sharp? I have hell's own trouble convexing. Looks like that, nice and shiny, but can't even shave hair with it. Or cut plastic. Or butter. :(

Turbo, def looks like you gave it a good stropping to finish it off but can you let us know what grit sp you used to start and finish the work? Looks great btw, - a real zombie killer

I started with 220 but had to go to 100 on the tip because it's very thick and it took a long time to get most of the factory grind out. If I was better with Macro you could still see some of the original grind lines on the tip in the first pic.

Grits were 100-220-320-400-600 - rouge strop - soft side belt strop

I alternated sides in strokes starting at 50-40-30-10-5 for the 100 and 220 until I got a good base then went 30-15-5 for the rest of the grits. I stropped it about 30 reps per side w/ each strop

From the tip the first 1/2" is sharp but nothing crazy. The rest of the knife goes through paper like air and would probably shave most other people's arm hair, but simply gets stuck in my bear hair.

Thanks for the comments!

You used sand paper.. damn how long did it take you.. sounds like a drawn out process but you got it looking great!

I had to resort to using some 80 grit on a belt sander to get the Boss Street to have a proper 20 degree angle. Only took 2 passes.. lol. I mirror polished the beast up and it is easily one of the sharpest knives I have now.

If you lived near by, I would be happy to get together and give some pointers.

I am not the champ,

But my convex edges are sharp sharp. Jump hair with no pressure at all. The hair will litterally leap off and shoot into the air.

Most common is pushing too hard. Or doing a bit of a "roll" to a steeper angle at the end of the stroke.

I finish mine with a stropping with polishing compound.

I can also do a quick strop on a V edge and make them jump hair.

As to the OP, looks good. Doing a big one by hand is a lot of work! I have done a FBMLE, SS, SARQ and a KZII (most beef to remove so far).

I just realized it was infi, a DSFS
