I have to post these questions for a few friends that don't have ready access to internet right now.
They're trying to convex grind a chinook II and a manix CE with mouse pad and sandpaper method.
Manix CE: He can't seem to get this knife shaving sharp following the mouse pad method, even after stropping. The knife feels sharp and will certainly break skin but can't really shave with it. Does he have to start over the whole process with the different grits or is something else wrong? It looks like its sharp, and polished edge but won't shave any hair.
Chinook II: Again with the mouse pad convex method, this knife is shaving sharp but the angle seems to be uneven with the last 1/2inch of the blade. Does he need to start over to even it up, and how should be stropping the edge to make the whole edge even with the curved blade shape?
