So I spent a little while making this guided system, but still needs a bit of work. I gave my 2 a nice convex up to 600 grit. Not the prettiest edge ever but its sharp :D

Well...Not to rain on yer parade, but a "fixed system" will NOT produce a convex edge. Think of "convex" moar like an egg...with a pointy tip. or an even better example; the profile of a magnifying glass, hence the term convex lens. Glad your system got it sharp, but it's not convex.

I know exactly what it is :D I put some rubber window weatherstripping on the square tube and then put sand paper over it. It is convexed(hard to see in the pics).

Well...unless it's a soft-backed (foam, soft leather or similar) strip of sandpaper, in which case it absolutely will produce a convex edge, the softer the backing the more convex. Regardless of flat or convex, looks like a pretty decent setup! :)

Edit to add: He posted while I was typing. :D

I hope you are wearing rubber gloves and helmet when you use that thing.

Can't be too careful..;)

lol, sorry bout that...not "hard to see" but rather "impossible to see" =) good job on the setup, much moar fulfilling to make it yerself than to BUY something...Glad it works for you!! BTW my "setup" is even too ugly for even this forum... It includes a stood-up piece of 1/4 inch mdf with holes in it , and a 3/16 inch rod with sandpaper wrapped wooden dowells...(makes changing the paper EZ) But if it makes a good edge, then power to you!
