I'm considering convexing the edge on my MH for some time now,I think it would make a perfect candidate for the job. My method would be wet/dry and mouse pad, Ill start with 400 move to 600,800,1500 and 2000grit and then strop, I need to find some leather. This will be my first convex job on a knife over $60, so Im wondering if you guys could assist me with any tips from experience or pics of related jobs that will help me come out with a good end result and not a butterknife:D. I know this topic has been beaten to death and apologize for adding to it, but would like knowledge ands tips of more experienced forum member PO's. Anything will be appeciated, THANKS

Start with 320, add 1200, use a red sharpie with a magnifier glass to see whats going on.

Get some emory cloth, makes grinding in the bevel not such a PITA. Also use firm pressure at a low angle to get the shape. Go slow and check things often, done right it should take several hours.

I clicked on this thread because the CS/MH in CarbonV is my all-time fave factory knife (if I had to choose only one). Plus, I generally like convex edges. Doing this as a DIY thing can really bring out the best performance in a knife that was ground too thick in the first place.

The spine and most of the blade is thick enough to be quite strong. The full taper makes for a well-balanced blade that cuts very well. It's ground nice and thin at the edge; thin enough that major convexing isn't really needed in my opinion, although it won't hurt. The difference in cutting ability you get from convexing it may be negligible.

All I can really say is, have fun with it. It's a great design and hard to ruin. :)
