Convexing on a recurve

I'm looking at putting a convex edge on a Kershaw Blur. Problem is, it's got a slight recurve to it. And it's s30v, a much tougher steel than I'm used to. I've got a couple months of experience with convex sharpening/rebeveling, but I'm torn between wanting to take a crack at it and wanting to send it to a pro.

I'm not gonna ruin this thing if I screw up, am I? And how feasible is it to trying and work with this recurve, it's new to me.

It's easily possible but it could take a while. Low grit sandpaper, mousepad and a dowel rod...maybe some tape too.

What method are you using to convex the knife? If you're using a belt sander, you can split your belts to about 1/2 to 1/3 inches wide. 3M Micron belts have a bit more flex and can sharpen a recurve well.

It lets you hit the recurve part of the blade better than using a flat surface.

if you build a base and have a few rods, you can glue leather to the dowel and charge them with different compounds(valve grinding paste to .25 micron diamond paste if you wish)
