As a rule, sharpening on a grinding wheel creates a slightly concave bevel because ... um ... wheels are round. 
But with the release of their KJ-45 and KJ-140 jigs, Tormek has provided the ability to create controlled convex bevels. The jig has two stops, so if you want to create a convex all you have to do is, instead of moving the jig straight across the guide bar, you move it up and down between the two stops as you move across the bar.
