Heresy! Blasphemer! you squeal - just calm down...

Could it be too big? 1/4'' (more for the LE) of 16" INFI goodness - that's gotta be kinda heavy - yeah? Not something I'll take out to Rancho San Antonio open space... car camping a Yosemite? mmm...possibly

What's your planned use?

Having never fondled a knife quite this large, I was wondering if you could convince me that the bigness won't get in the way...

And I'm thinking either urban gray/ g10 black or tan camo/tan

If you have to ask you'll never know;) . Lol you dont have to justify it, if you want it man, buy it. Simple as that, you spelled it all out, 16 inches of INFI man. What more couild a man ask for except maybe MORE INFI??

It really depends on the carry system that you plan to employ. . . .

In top secret conversations, Dave Brown has informed me that he plans on introducing a, "4 wheel drive all-terrain Kydex model with power steering". . . .

Not to be outdone, Leatherman is providing a, "more compact folding handled, pneumatic tired, 2 wheel all leather system with his new patent pending removable axle that fits snuggly in the rear talon hole". . . .

Contact these carry system giants directly for more info. . .

Cheers!!!

Jerry :D

I'm going to just stuff mine into my back pocket and let the extra stick out the bottom of pocket. I should be just fine, as long as I don't sit down..

No one needs to convince me that I "need" an FBM, they need to try and convince me that I don't.

Nuke on with that Infi Badness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! I just took my Mistress (E model) to Yosemite and the GRAND CANYON! And besides the screams and people running in front of the shuttles I really didn't feel it was out of place. ;)

How very true. My user will be strapped to the front rack of my Brute Force replacing the FSH that is there now. For clearing paths this should be the bomb. :D

I think for splitting firewood around a camp it would be hard to beat. I have a HOG and HH FSH (not to leave out the Ratweiler ;)) and they are great for this purpose in the backcountry because they are easier to carry. Sometimes while splitting wood for a fire I do wish I had the extra length to get through some logs using the baton method. The BM has that length. I have held the Rat Daddy and Rat Mastiff for size comparison and are worthy splitting knives in their own right but I would FAR prefer the through hardened INFI for this purpose. Dem super long Rats flex amazingly well and remain true as advertised but too much for my taste. The FBM does also have enough length to serve marginally as a machete in deep woods/brush...something I often wish I had out there.

I will bring mine with me to Afghanistan. Sometime you need more than just harsh language to convince an afghan that you DO NOT NEED a tea boy.

Good point!

There's nothing like 10 inches of sharpened INFI to break through the language barrier!!!:D
