Convince me to buy a Becker

Hello,

Ive been compiling a BOB for awhile, and I want a way to process firewood and build shelter. I've been considering 23.5 inch fiskars chopping axe, and a bk2/7/9. And I kinda want a becker. I cant really decide on what I want. Ive been leaning towards the bk9, due to the size, and the bk2 seems a little small for splitting medium sized pieces of wood. I already have a bk11 for detailed work.

Anyways, you guys know better than I do, what should I get? Size a weight arent a huge issue, but the axe seems overkill, and the smaller hatchet seems too small to split.

Sounds like ill be getting the 9 then. Also, how are the edges from the factory? My bk11 had a pretty gnarly edge and uneven grind. Do most people end up needing to reprofile them?

Buy a Becker or I will come to your place and make you buy one.

First you have to convince me to convince you to buy a Becker, at which point I'll convince you to buy a 9.

Sound advice all around. I was carrying my 9 yesterday, while I was mowing and working in the yard. One of the reasons I love the 9 so much, as I was mowing, I would come up to a low hanging branch, out comes the 9, no more branch. Before the yard was done, I had 3 piles, waist high of branches, and small undergrowth that I had cleared off, without ever taking my hand off the mower handle. Fast, light, chops like a fiend, and makes the ladies swoon.

Glad to see you in here posting with us.

As to the OP -- you came here, you're already a lost cause.
Get the 9 this paycheck and a 2 on the next one.

My BK9 came sharp as a very sharp thing and is a real workhorse. I think I still like the BK2 better for all around knife work but, dang that BK9 is useful. Here's a recent pic to help keep you lusting after one...

Why buy a Becker, You do not want a Becker.
Go to walmart and buy the winchester 2 knife combo.
Becker knives are overpriced, Why pay that kinda money($60-75) for something that will last you a lifetime.
Betweem the 2,7,9.
Buy the 9 Ive heard there sexy.

We shouldn't have to convince you to buy them, you can do that yourself if you compare them to anything else in there price range.

Forgive my poor wording. I didn't mean to imply that anyone was under any obligation to help. Just looking for another excuse to buy a becker. I had already pretty much decided I wanted a becker, just wasn't sure which one.

Anyways, thank you all for your help. I'll try to post some pictures when I get a chance to test it out on some wood.
