Convince me to buy a Jester

Hi all, found an NIB Jester (SS, SE) at a local store for around MSRP. I know that it's been discontinued for a while, but I still couldn't bring myself to buy it. I have a number of Ladybugs and find them to be great little knives, which is (in part) why I didn't grab it (they seem too similar.) I'm not a huge fan of SE blades and want to pick up an Urban before they become too scarce, but the Jester gets so much praise that I'm reconsidering my decision.

I can't say enough great things about the Jester. It's by far my favorite keychain-size Spyderco knife. I love the blade shape and the SE. That said, I've been carrying a burgundy micarta PE on my key ring for years. Re the knife you're considering, I'd suggest waiting to find one with a FRN or micarta handle. I had an SS version and found the SS way too slippery--not a good thing on such a small knife. It's the only Jester I ever sold.

Thanks for the reply! I wasn't really looking to acquire a Jester, I just thought I'd ask about it because I found one locally. Think I'll pass on this one.

Does this help....I've been looking high and low for those. I'd buy it from you unless you want to be a great feller and forward me a contact at the store. However I would be happy to throw a couple bucks your way for a finders fee. If anything sounds good please feel free to email me at cjohnneve@gmail.com.

This is not the right section for a "want to buy" ad. If you want to do that, post in the correct section, which would be here:

I've personally never been a fan of the SS handled Spydercos, too slippery when wet IMHO. I do have a black FRN PE Jester that I used to lightly EDC until they were discontinued and now it sits in my collection. I've got 3 Ladybugs (1st gen 1/2 serrated black FRN, current gen PE grey FRN, and a yellow PE H1) and use the grey as my daily EDC small blade and the H1 as my vacation/near water EDC small blade. The Jester has a really nice blade shape but again, having my Ladybugs I don't see a reason to use the Jester. It'll probably get handed down to my daughter when she's older.
