Convince me to take my bk16 on my next trip

I love the look and feel of my new BK16. What a solid knife.

However, I'm used to taking something like the Kabar Heavy Bowie or 1211 with me. The sheath for the 1211 is the same size as the one that comes with the BK16. Weight difference I can't really notice.

So convince me the BK16 is a better walking around the woods blade!

I have a Knives of Alaska Bush Camp in D2 (which is closer to BK2 size than BK16). It used to be a common companion of mine until I got my 16. I also have a USMC Ka-Bar and a short black Ka-Bar. Those are favorites as well. But when I picked up the 16 everything about that knife felt right. I even love the stock sheath...though I'm looking real hard at Skystorm's, Thrillbilly's, and Godspeeds sheaths. The size, weight, design, ergos...everything feels right. I love it. And all I've done is wacked a few limbs off of bushes in my yard. I cannot wait to get it out in the woods.

Deep down inside something told you to buy the knife for a reason. Are you unhappy with your Ka-Bars or just wanted something different? If you wanted something different, leave the other knives at home, go for a short hike, and try something different.
