I know it's big, heavy, overkill, etc. I have never been drawn to blade coatings, recurves or assisted opening but I am drawn to this knife. I won't need it for edc, my sebenza 25 owns that but I would use it and carry it in some situations. I know only I can decide etc etc but what do the fans/detractors say?

Sounds like you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. I would add that it is deceptively light for its build, an added bonus for when you do give it pocket time. And it fits most hands very well.

As an added bonus, they resell well if you don't use it much. What's to lose?

I do know what I'm getting into, I have handled one before. And your right, what is there to lose, if I don't like it, someone else will;)

If you have times when you will carry and use it, get it. The knives themselves are fine products. I've handled several and I've owned other ZTs. There's nothing wrong with ZT's designs, execution, or F&F. They work exceptionally well for the kinds of knives they are and what they're intended to do. I have a ZT 350 that's one of my favorite carries. No worries about the knives themselves. You just have to decide if it appeals to you. They aren't for everyone, but if you're on the fence about one, you won't know for sure until you get one and try it out.

I put my toe in the 300 series pond with a 301 Blem from kershaw dave. Its perfect execpt for 3 tiny white spots on the blade tiger striping.

It is an amazing knife. Its big, but not nearly as heavy as some would have you believe. Think folding fixed blade. Love it!

I also purchased one from kershaw guy a while ago. It's an amazon knife. It's got heft and just makes a badass presence in your hand. Plus, cool guy factor with the stripes.
