I really enjoy these forums and would buy a membership to support the site immediately if I had any hope of this problem being addressed. If I am doing something wrong, please advise.

When I log in, I get the 'thanks you for logging in' screen, and then I get bounced back to the YOU ARE NOT A REGISTERED MEMBER screen. I have to go clear my cookies before being able to log in completely. This is a pain. I brought this up before and haven't learned anything new since.

Again, I am ready and willing to pay for this terrific resource, but I want it to work before I shell out the $. I hope this is understandable. I contribute to lots of other boards and forums, and this is the only one that I have ever seen exhibit this behavior. If it's just a glitch that's designed to encourage signing up, that's fine. I will sign up if somebody tells me that the forums will load properly after becoming a member, but if I am going to have constant timing out issues as described, I would probably be better off waiting until the issue is resolved to subscribe, because the experience of logging in as it stands is rather frustrating.

I have tried this on several PCs and a Mac - all with the same results. I am using Firefox.

Thanks. I look forward to contributing socially and financially to BF. I appreciate what you guys do.

Best. C

If you haven't tried it yet, try clicking on any of the subforum links or other links on the page after being bumped back to the "non-registered" screen. BFC never recognizes me on the main page, but everywhere else is fine.

Interesting. I will give it a shot.

In fact I am going to go register now regardless. I use the forum enough to warrant a basic membership anyway. I just want it to work properly.

Thanks. for the tip. I look forward to Mod response.

Are you running Vista home premium? I started having similar issues when I switched from XP to vista. I had to check the 'remember me box' to log in, then I am logged in. It may have to to with vista security I was told.

I learned how to clear the cookies and this really helps to speed up the machine and improve security. Have your machine clear the cookies and the temporary internet history files everytime you log off the internet. You can find the settings in the internet tools. Its not the easiest menu to navigate through, but its all in there if one can find it and be sure to hit the apply button before leaving tools or the changes won't take affect.

This works for AOL users as well.
