Well, a few weeks ago, my wife's long lost 1st cousin came by and stayed with us. They're dealing with layoffs and bad economy and rather than struggle to hold onto everything, they sold it all and hit the road. Its a neato idea, and I envy their childless freedom. Anyway, we hit it off really well, and they're certainly quality folks. While he was here, he helped me finish up a knife and let him keep it for his journey. He wrote about it in his blog.

I think the blog will be a good read and wanted to share. If you go check it out, click a link or two. That'd be appreciated.

That's pretty awesome that y'all invited family into your home the way y'all did without knowing them. i am not sure I could do that. If I com stay with you for a week can I have a knife? I would love to build my own.
On a serious note it really stinks that they are having a hard time since losing his job but at the same time it seems to be a blessing in disguise since they are taking advantage of the time and traveling. Never in my life will I be able to do something like that except for when I come to stay with you so I can build my own knife.
God is great and works in ways we will never understand. Just like when you have me, my wife and 3 kids come stay with you so I can build my own knife.

Cool story Andy, thanks for sharin'. Moose

With my wife, two kids, and FIL, that'd be a full house. But! You are welcome to come and visit the shop. I'm here every weekday. I also don't mind teaching.

I see my young friend Andy Roy has a new name ..."Leah's husband.";)

Try that one on for size! I still remember the first time I was called "Diane's husband.":D
