Cool Axe making film from the 1960s

Awesome! Those two guys working together like they did were a machine in itself. I was ten years old when these were being made, boy I wish we could go back to those slower and more simpler times. It's quite amazing to watch the Craftsman ship and accuracy of the work they did. The guy lighting his pipe off the hot steel was classic also. Thanks for posting,:thumbsup:

This captures the old time axe making process.
thank you!

that was enjoyable, and led to me stumbling upon as forestry service documentary:

and a new element to the edge obsession begins...:D

if anyone has any suggestions about further axe related documentaries for a newb, it would be much appreciated

Pretty sure there is an old thread somewhere with these and many other such videos in it. Once you watch a couple on youtube, youtube will start suggesting most of the ones that are out there. The guy in the axe to grind video posts on this forum from time to time, or used to.

you are correct cityofthesouth!

I've gone through the first 28 pages or so of this forum, and without meaning to hijack this thread...

if anyone has suggestions about resources for someone who's new-to-but-smitten-by axes and similar tools, to learn more about them, their use, maintenance, etc, it would be greatly appreciated!
